Though Edwin Lester may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Edwin Lester touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Millard Gross and Bertha Gross; his daughter Tina Gross Portis; and his granddaughter Addison Olivia Gross. He is survived by: his wife Betty; and his sons, Edwin Lester Gross, Jr. (Monica), Barry Lee Gross (Amber) and Cole Portis (Joy). He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
A graveside service was held on Wednesday, June 11th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Oakwood Annex-St. Margarets Cemetery (1304 Upper Wetumpka Rd, Montgomery, AL 36107).
