He was predeceased by: his parents, Allen Winchester McConnell and Pauline Matthews McConnell; and his wife Sylvia Collier McConnell. He is survived by: his son James Clay McConnell; his daughter-in-law Gayla Britton McConnell; his granddaughter Caylan Britton Matthews; his grandson-in-law William Casey Matthews; his great grandchildren, William Cade Matthews and Camden Michael Matthews; his grandson Collier Davis McConnell; his granddaughter-in-law Kayla Hull McConnell; his great grandchild Caroline Grace Turner; his sister-in-law Bobbie McConnell; his half-sister Rosemary Misenick (Stephen); his nephew Wayne Turney (Faye); his sister-in-law Carolyn Collier Williams; his sibling's children, Ryan Williams and Rachel Gaines (Rich); his great-nieces, Jordan Williams, Ava Clair Bozeman and Brantley Bozeman; Truett Cochran.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 7th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Wetumpka (205 W Bridge St, Wetumpka, AL 36092). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 7th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
