He was predeceased by: his parents, John Francis and Rose Holmes; and his sister Dorothy Holmes. He is survived by: his wife Scarlotte Holmes; his children, John Edward Holmes (Debbie) and Lisa Dzitko (Steve); and his grandsons, Steven Dzitko (Amanda), Kevin Dzitko (Marilena) and John Christopher Holmes (Lauren). He is also survived by his five great grandchildren.
