He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruben Vaughn Grier and Dorothy Verna Grier; his siblings, James R. Grier, Edwin S. Grier, Bobby J. Grier and Betty Grier Mustin; and his brothers-in-law, Joseph Q. Mustin and Raiford W. "Bill" Law.

He is survived by: his sisters, Carolyn Law and Debbie Englehart (Mark); his sisters-in-law, Shirley Grier and Victoria Grier; and his nephews, Randy Mustin, Walt Mustin, Wayne Law, Ray Law, David Grier and Michael Grier. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
