She was predeceased by: her parents, Ivan Brown and Mable Ruth Salter Brown; her parents-in-law, Lonzo and Linnie Smith; her former husband William Shelton Smith; her sisters, Ouida Fay Hart (Willie) and Ruby Hazel Spence (Ferman); and her brothers-in-law, Jim Starr and Frankie Phillips.
She is survived by: her husband Tandy Key; her sons, William Shelton Smith, Jr. (Kay) and Michael Eric Smith (Dena); her sisters, Hellon Jean Starr and Jean Willette Phillips; her grandchildren, Megan Joy DeBonis (Domenic), Abbey Lane Smith, Bethanee Rae Edge (Cole), Annabelle Joy Vickers (Dakota) and Jeb Michael Smith (Isabel); her great grandchildren, Adelyn Joyce DeBonis, Emma Claire DeBonis, Sawyer Louise Edge, Evelyn Joy Vickers and Thomas McLane Vickers; and her stepson Tandy Key, Jr. (Melanie). She is also survived by many extended family members and dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Guatemala Mission Project in memory of Rachel Smith Key. Donations may be made through Santuck Baptist Church, Wetumpka, AL.
