With sadness, we share the passing of Winifred Barton of Wetumpka, Alabama. Winifred, born on February 28, 1929, passed away on June 8, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Burl Elton and Victoria Lawson Head; her husband Robert "Bobby" Barton, Sr.; her sisters, Mary Bailey and Lurline Teague; and her daughter-in-law Beverly Barton.
She is survived by: her children, Lisa Furlong (Dennis) of Wetumpka, Robert Barton of Madison, AL and John Barton (Sue) of Athens, AL; her sister Sybil Amason (Jim) of St. Augustine, FL; and her grandchildren, Sarah Barton, Melissa Barton (Kevin), Jacob Barton (Chancey), Levi Barton (Alisha), Jonna Warner (Richard), Will Barton, Terrell Barton (Madeline), Madelyn Furlong, Sydney Furlong and Emma Furlong. She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of sending flowers, it was Mrs. Barton's request that those family members and friends visit someone in the nursing home or a shut-in.
