Billie Cornell Obituary
Billie June Cornell, 91, of Alma, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 20, 2026.
Billie was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She loved to travel, but above all, she cherished her family. She was known for keeping an immaculate home—so much so that her walls often had to be repainted from her constant cleaning. Billie took great pride in caring for her family and created a home filled with love.
She was born October 13, 1934, in Yoestown, to the late Ovel and Rosetta (Dunn) Davis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Raymond Lee Cornell; her son, Frederick Cornell; her sisters, Naomi Stark and husband Joe, and Ruth Osborne and husband Ben; her brother, Fred Davis and wife Sharon; and her great-grandson, Brycen Hillier.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda Montgomery of Rudy, Arkansas, and Charlotte Parsons and husband Pee Wee of Alma, Arkansas; daughter-in-law, Karen Cornell of Hilton, NY; her grandchildren, Nichole and husband Tim Hillier of Charleston, Arkansas, Carolina and husband Kyle Wilson of Charleston, Arkansas, John and wife Kristle Montgomery of Rudy, Arkansas, Jennifer and husband Jerry Don Kelley of Alma, Arkansas, Kendra and husband Jon Cottrell of Alma, Arkansas, Taylor and wife Carly Parsons of Alma, Arkansas, Tamara Cornell of Barling, Arkansas, and Chris Cornell of Fort Smith, Arkansas; her great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Jax, Ryder, Maebry, Beckham, Harper, Scout, Racen, Mabel Lou, Hayleigh, Hunter, Lexi, and Natalie; and her great-great-grandchildren, Remington, Wrenlee, and August.
A memorial service to celebrate Billie's life will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at Ocker Funeral Home of Alma. Interment will follow at a later date at Fort Smith National Cemetery. Chaplain David Banks will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma.
