He was predeceased by : his parents, Donald R. Hurst and Ruth Carlile Hurst; his wife Barbara "Bobbie" Hurst; his daughter Leslie Ann Hurst; his daughter-in-law Susan Hurst; and his siblings, Lloyd Lee Hurst and Judy Rinke.

He is survived by : his sons, Ricky Hurst of Altus and Randy Hurst of Altus; and his grandchildren, Amanda Jade Cagle, Jacob Hurst, Erick Hurst, Joseph Hurst, Bradley Hurst and Whitley Huffstetler. He is also survived by eight great grandchildren.
