With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Anna (Annie) Laura Johnston of Arkadelphia, Arkansas, who passed away on April 23, 2024 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, we take solace in the memories we hold dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Anna may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Shelby Braden and Gertrude Pennington Braden; her husband Carl Edward Johnston; her daughter Carla Massy; and her sisters, Mable Neeley, Geraldine Almond and Ruth Copeland.

She is survived by : her children, Ed Johnston (Bonnie) of Arkadelphia, Linda Wright (John) of Caddo Valley and Patty Eismann of Leavenworth, KS; and her granddaughter Deanna Hughes. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Monday, April 29th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Welch Funeral Home (202 S 4th St, Arkadelphia, AR 71923). A graveside service was held on Tuesday, April 30th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Rest Haven Memorial Gardens (4647 Pine St, Arkadelphia, AR 71923).
