We announce the death of Kathia L. Betts (Arkadelphia, Arkansas), born in Cleveland, Ohio, who passed away on October 5, 2026, at the age of 65. Kathia will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Shandria Matlock and Earthie L. Giles Matlock; and her siblings, Mattie Jean Davis and James Matlock. She is survived by: her children, Nathaniel Betts Jr., Jasmine Hardy (Betts) and Angelica Betts; her stepdaughters, Rochelle Creor (Dee) and Monica Betts; her siblings, MarilynJean Dobbs, Palestine Wright (George), Kenneth Matlock (Brenda), Dennis Matlock, Jerome Matlock (Sarah), Tyrone Matlock and Mary Matlock; and her grandchildren, Jazelle, Jupiter, Zachary Jr. and Zaxton.

Viewing will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Williams Funeral Home (1517 Caddo St, Arkadelphia, AR 71923). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church - Sparkman (225 E Ethel St, Sparkman, AR 71763).
