He was predeceased by : his parents, Aaron Lanier, and Lillian Lanier, Sr. (Lake); his wife Daveen Lanier; and his grandson Aaron Robert Lanier, IV. He is survived by : his close friend Judy Thomason of Ashdown; and his children, Aaron Robert Lanier of St. Cloud, FL, George Lanier of Ben Lomond, AR, Joe Lanier of Houston, TX, Tim Lanier of St. Cloud, FL, Martha Harris of Pensacola, FL and Julie Carmean of Robertsdale, AL. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
