He was predeceased by: his parents, George Wallon and Edith Odessa Shafer. He is survived by: his wife Donna Jean Shafer; his son Rickey James Wagoner; his siblings, Alan Shafer, Howard Shafer, Dennis Shafer, Jean Marie Walker, Freida Tassey, J. R. Shafer (George), Norma Jo Pittman and Mary Alice Ritchie; his children, Elesha Allensworth (Cary), Jeffery Anderson, Donna Jones, Vicki Wells (Boyd) and Charles Shafer Jr. (Leslie); and his grandchildren, Bryan Cunningham, Brittany Cunningham, Kody Cunningham, Ashlee'Anderson, Amber Hawkins, Krystal Shafer, Allyson Smith, Emilee Powers, Logan Johnston, Jackson Shafer and Dawson Shafer.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 27th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Lemley Chapel.
