He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Patterson and Effie Leona Wiley McGowan; his wife Helen Louise Gray; his son Brian Keith McGowan; and his brothers, Elmer and Elbert McGowan.
He is survived by: his daughter Beverly Lynn; and his children-in-law, Steven Brown of Clarksville and Shalene McGowan of Appleton. He is also survived by six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
