He is survived by: his wife Ruth Thornton Thayer; his sister Ann Thayer (Richard Wells) of Fair Haven, Vt.; his children, Joseph Sheldon (Christy), Jeremiah Sheldon (Tiffany) and Bethany Niswonger (Justin); and his grandchildren, Christian Gowen (Carol), Brenden Sheldon (Shea), Josh Copeland (Sarah), William Sheldon (Sara), Trinity Copeland, Jaycee Sheldon (Ivy), Ryan Sheldon, Harley Tarkington, Westin, Elizabeth and Charlotte Niswonger. He is also survived by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
