He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnny Ira and Nellie Ruth Sanford (Wyatt); his son Jeff Sanford; his brother Verlan Sanford; his daughter-in-law Marti Sanford; his siblings-in-law, Louise Sanford, Marilyn Mitchell, Shirley Mitchell, Valery Mitchell, Herbert Mitchell Jr., Leroy Mitchell, Larry Mitchell and Rueben Mayhue; his great grandchild Kaydence Humes; his stepmother Lois Jean Anselmi Sanford (Ballard); and his stepsiblings, Jean Anselmi Stuart and Steve Anselmi.
He is survived by: his wife Gwena Sanford; his son Tim Sanford (Stephanie) of Bald Knob; his brother Arnold Sanford (Carolyn) of Alexander; his siblings-in-law, Paul Mitchell (Linda), Noma Mitchell, Cathy Blevins (Danny) and Nina Mayhue; his grandchildren, Amanda Anderson (Shannon), Tonya Humes (Anthony) and Phillip Vaughn; his great grandchildren, Kaylee Phillips (Seth) of Emersyn Humes, A. J and Paula Humes; and his stepbrother Dub Anselmi (Cuc Nguyen). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 7th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Dillinger Funeral Home Chapel (2001 AR-367, Newport, AR 72112). A funeral service was held on Sunday, September 7th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Sunday, September 7th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Hickmon Cemetery.
