With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Thelma Lavada Barnes of Batesville, Arkansas, who passed away on April 13, 2026 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid adieu to Thelma's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in her wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Thelma has bequeathed us. For though she may have departed from our sight, her spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest Haggard and Clara Haggard (Trayler); her husband Jim T. Barnes; and her children, Jimmy C. Barnes and Greta Jean Hurtt.
She is survived by: her daughters, Terrie Lewallen (Ronnie) of Batesville, Barbara Sharp of Batesville and Pamela Ochoa (Juan) of Georgia; and her grandchildren, April Davis (Jody), Ashley Winkle (Shane) and Allen Barnes. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
