He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Mathis and Alice Mathis (Morris); and his sister Ann Mathis McFadden. He is survived by: his children, Jennifer Wulf (Trey), Jaclyn Mathis (Cesar Gomez) and Garrett Mathis; his granddaughter Naomi Gomez; his siblings, Wilma Stewart, Carroll Mathis, Danny Mathis, Kaye Griffin, Gerald Mathis, Gary Mathis and Preston Mathis; his aunts, Betty, Christine and Mary; his uncle Charles; his caregiver Wayne; and his uncle Gerald. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
