She was predeceased by: her parents, John Thomas McCarley and Olene Taylor McCarley; and her sister Barbara Jean Hollis. She is survived by: her husband Max Coats; her children, Lisa Hale (Gary), Mike Coats (Cecelia) and Mark Calvert (Jan); her sisters, Shirley Olene Hubanks (Bobby), Linda Gail Cheshier (Carl) and Sandra Faye Figueroa (Mike); her grandchildren, Zack Hale (Teri), Michelle Coats, Barry Coats (Keri) and Ellie Odle (Austin); and her great grandchildren, Dylan, Braden, Kayleigh Coats, Andie and Livie Odle. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Salem Missionary Baptist Church.
