He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Sue McElroy; his daughters, Cindy Summerville and Bigi Britten; his parents, Harold McElroy and Elizabeth McElroy; his stepmother Doris McElroy; and his siblings, Paul McElroy and Katherine Bailey.
He is survived by: his children, Tom (Marsha McElroy), Tim (Mary McElroy), Lori Baker, Kathy (Steve Schultz) and Ginger Haley; his brothers, Ronnie, Gary and Dennis McElroy; and his pet Bum. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
