With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Dorothy Jean Elder of Benton, Arkansas, who passed away on January 4, 2026 at the age of 97. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Andrew Roberts and Ella Roberts; her siblings, John Roberts and Betty Strickland; her husband Dwain Elder; and her daughter Janie Welch.
She is survived by: her daughters, Elizabeth Carter (Jimmy) of Benton, Brenda Potts Banks (Tommy) of Benton and Susan Elder of Little Rock; her son-in-law Jim Welch of Benton; her grandchildren, Jennifer Thornburgh (Guy), Amy Welch, Chrissy Keith, Deric Davenport (JP), Drew Farley, Dustyn Crossland and Savanna White (Donovan); and her great grandchildren, Ella Blair Keith, Conner Keith and Deacon Davenport. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends she loved.
Memorials may be made to Baptist Health Hospice or Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Benton, Arkansas.
