He was predeceased by: his parents, Leroy Dean and Clarine Dean; his wife Lillian Jeanette Hawkins; his son Alan Hawkins; and his siblings, Clifford Dean, Carl Dean, Herman Dean, Elmer Dean, Roylea Dean and Lucille Dean.

He is survived by: his son Dennis Hawkins of Benton; his granddaughter Tara Dorminy of Rogers; his great grandchildren, Hadley and Jackson Dorminy of Rogers; and his caregiver Dale Jones. He is also survived by several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, many nephews and nieces.
