It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gerald Smith of Benton, Arkansas, born in Bauxite, Arkansas, who passed away on September 29, 2024, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, George Edward and Blanche Smith (Price); his wife Linda Louise Smith (Hopkins); his daughter Sherri Linda Sullivan (Smith); his son-in-law C. Y. Sullivan; and his siblings, Gordon, John, Eugene, George II, Carl Smith and Sadie Smith.
He is survived by: his daughter Sharon Louise Gaines (Smith); his son-in-law Russell Gaines; his grandchildren, Erron, Corey McCormack, Brooks Sullivan, April, Tim Gates, Crystal, Jason Kavanaugh, Derek, Elizabeth Gaines, Dylan, Jeanine Gaines, Jennifer, Ramone Arteaga, Heather and Jeremy Casey; his great grandchildren, Jay, Jordan, Justin Kavanaugh, Jaycee, Jacon, Aulene McCormack, Mickayla, Wyatt Casey, Murron, Uriah Arteaga, Margot and Ronan Gaines; his great great grandchild Tatom Casey; and his sisters, Linda Payne (Dale) and Phyllis Erwin. He is also survived by numerous other family members and friends.
