He is survived by: his wife Margaret Ann Scott Townsend; his children, Ashley Wilcox (Jeff), Stacy Townsend (Scott Knoedl) and James Scott Townsend; and his brothers, Jeff Townsend (Constance) and Mark Townsend. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
