He was predeceased by: his parents, John Joseph Strassle, Sr. and Lula Mae Strassle; his close friend Sharon Talley; and his siblings, John Walter Strassle, Jerry Strassle and Emily Spears.
He is survived by: his son Jerry Louis Strassle; his siblings, John Joseph Strassle, Jr., Mary Louise Roberts, Johnnie Mae Harlan, Barbara Scott, Venia Wellinghoff and Helen Fetters; his in-laws, Donnie Harlan, Bill Fetters, Terry Spears, Junior Talley, Carl Talley (Clara) and Joyce Boswell (David); and his pet Joe Joe. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
