He is survived by: his wife Zelma Ione Minyard Johnson; his children, Jeannie Ione Johnson Flynn, Jim Richard Johnson, Jr., Amelia Christine Johnson Young and Molly Denise Johnson Boyd; and his grandsons, Gabriel Pierre Young, Owen Michael Young, Joseph Matthew Boyd and Tristan Carpenter Boyd. He is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces.
