He was predeceased by: his wife Barbara Loy; his father Leo Clayton Oaks; and his sisters, Meloney Kristofik and Candice Oaks. He is survived by: his mother Janet Oaks; his children, Brad Oaks, Clint Oaks, Autumns Reaves and Jeremy Reaves; his siblings, Tammy Kinsey and Leo Clayton Jr.; his grandchildren, Cassie Oaks, Megan Kinder, Nolan Kinder, Jacie Oaks, Paisley Reaves and Augustus Reaves; and his great grandchildren, Kacie Kinder, Josie Kinder and Lyla Kinder.
