He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Petty and Gene Petty of Biscoe; his sister-in-law Rachel Petty; and his niece Elizabeth Petty. He is survived by: his wife Veneta Petty of Washington, NC; his sons, Jay Petty (Tina) of Grimesland, NC and Jeff Petty (Jennifer) of Biscoe, Arkansas; his grandchildren, Caleb Petty (Madison) of Chocowinity, NC and Sarah Petty of Grimesland, NC; his great grandchild Brooklyn Petty of Chocowinity, NC; and his brother Joe Petty of Bradford, Arkansas.. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 21st 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Biscoe Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Racers for Christ in honor of Alton Petty.
