She was predeceased by: her parents, Leonard Nelson and Marie Nelson; her husband Glen Phillips; her son Gary Phillips; and her siblings, Harvey Nelson, Laura Phillips and Bernice Phillips.

She is survived by: her children, Carl Phillips, Mike Phillips of Bismarck and Sheila Whitley (Jimmy) of Bismarck; and her grandchildren, Kristi Bellomy (Stephen), Courtney Phillips, Neil Whitley (Tiffany), Tasha Phillips, Britney Sanders (Alan) and Justin Phillips. She is also survived by nineteen great grandchildren.
