He is survived by: his mother Essie Lee Smith of Blytheville, AR; his children, Dee Smith, Jr. of Blytheville, AR and Brandy Smith of Blytheville, AR; and his siblings, Timmie Lee Smith of Blytheville, AR, Alexander Smith of Decatur, AL, Raymond Smith of Blytheville, AR, Mary Ann Smith of Blytheville, AR, Luella "Ebb" Cooper of Cincinnati, OH, Hattie Mae Malone (Robert) of Lebanon, MO, Sandra Ann Johnson of Valdosta, GA, Sherry Lynn Williams of Valdosta, GA and Laverne Smith of Blytheville, AR. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
