He was predeceased by: his parents, H. W. Franks and Lillie Mae Franks. He is survived by: his wife Bettye Cockrell Franks; his children, Ronald Franks of Blytheville and Kathy D. Jefferson (Roger) of Blytheville; and his grandson Steven Franks of Iowa.
