Jonathan Michael Hurd Obituary
Jonathan "Jon" Michael Hurd, 38, of Bono, Arkansas, was born on December 13, 1987 and passed from this life to his next on July 6, 2026. Born in Jonesboro, Arkansas, Jon was the cherished son of Mark and Lisa Hurd.
Throughout his life, he was a devoted father, loving son, brother, grandson, and nephew whose greatest joy came from the people he loved most. Jonathan's greatest blessing was being the father of his two sons, Noah and Gunner. He treasured every opportunity to spend time with them, creating memories that will forever remain in their hearts. His love for his boys was unwavering and evident in all that he did. Jon enjoyed riding motorcycles, hunting, and fishing. He found peace and comfort in the outdoors, and it is there where he felt closest to the Lord. Whether sitting beside the water, walking through the woods, or simply taking in the beauty of God's creation, nature was a place where his faith was strengthened and his spirit renewed. Life brought Jon many challenges, but through every trial he remained steadfast in his faith and found strength in his love for the Lord. His perseverance, compassion, and quiet determination will be remembered by all who knew and loved him.
Jon leaves behind a family who will forever cherish his memory and hold close to the love, faith, and kindness he shared throughout his life. Survivors include his parents: Mark and Lisa Hurd; maternal grandmother: Sunshine Pope; sons: Noah Hurd, Gunner Hurd; and brother: Joshua Hurd. Jon also leaves a host of other family and friends.
Jon is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: John Harlan and Patsy Ruth Hurd; maternal grandfather: Bobby Lee Pope; uncle: Michael Denny Pope; aunt: Judy Hurd-Carpenter; and cousin: Jennifer Pope.
Services will be held on Thursday, July 9, at Oak Hill General Baptist Church. The visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. with the service following at 11:00 a.m. David Gibson and Doran Gregory will be officiating, and burial will follow at Trinity Cemetery.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are his brother, Joshua Hurd and his cousins Bryan Pope, Kevin Pope, Zachary Pope, Tyler Roach, and Kevin Johnson.
Jonathan loved unconditionally and never judged. We should all strive to love this way.
