With sadness, we share the passing of James W. Handy of Bryant, Arkansas. James, born on February 8, 1947, passed away on October 28, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James W. Handy, Sr. and Irene Andrews; his daughter Brandi Lynn Handy; and his brother Jeff Handy. He is survived by: his wife Joan Handy; his children, James A. "Jimy" Handy (Susan) and Sherri Watts (Aars J. Watts); his sister Joy Vann; his grandchildren, Brandi M. Handy, Aaris J. Watts II (Heather), Zyas D. Watts, Noelle Pennington (Luke), Kristofer Kotoff, Mathew Kotoff and Rachel Powers (Jacob); and his great grandchildren, Isaac Works, Avalon Pearce, Atlas Pearce, James Pennington and Roland Pennington.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 9th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Pinecrest Memorial Park (7401 AR-5, Alexander, AR 72002).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society (https://donate.cancer.org) in his memory.
