He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Herndon and Sarah Herndon; and his wife Carol Susan Rowland. He is survived by: his siblings, Eddie Herndon of Oxford and Carolyn Holliday of Rome, Georgia; and his children, Thomas of Little Rock and Emily. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society or The Arkansas Food Bank.
