He was predeceased by: his father Harold Whitley; and his siblings, Deborah Vinsett and Robert "Bob" Whitley. He is survived by: his mother Virginia Whitley (Davis); his wife Jeanna Whitley; his children, Eric Gonia (Mandi), Michael Gonia (Amanda), Dede Chapman, Keith Whitley (Katie) and Katie Thomas; and his siblings, Maggie A. McClellan and John Whitley. He is also survived by grandchildren.
