She was predeceased by: her father Jack Goff Austin; her husband Robert Wayne Mellina; her son Joseph Henry Rudd, Jr.; her granddaughters, Brooke E. Posey, Brittani R. Bennett and Brittnee Chism; and her brothers, Mike Austin and Patrick Austin.
She is survived by: her pet Ellsa; her children, Marie Rudd Gregory (Todd) and John Rudd (Samantha); her daughter-in-law Shala Dixon; her grandchildren, Megan Posey, Haley Higdon (Justin), Chase Chism (Courtney), Joseph "Trey" Rudd III (Kayla), Connor Bennett (Jessie) and Emily Rudd; and her siblings, Diane M. Boswell, Sharon Austin, Wayne Austin, Richard Austin, Peggy Beasley, Katherine Moore and Mark Austin.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to a St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
