He was predeceased by: his parents, Hazel Hamby and George Hamby; and his siblings, Erlene Hamby, Charles Lee Hamby and Kenneth Hamby.
He is survived by: his wife Beatrice Hamby; his sister Carolyn Temple; his children, George William Hamby, Jr., Lisa Hawkins and Amy Floyd; and his stepchildren, Dale, David Campbell, Cheryle Stacy and Debbie Kennedy. He is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
