She was predeceased by: her parents, Tommy Lawson and Ellen Jessie Lawson (Grandgeorge); her husband James Arthur Shumate; her son Gary Shumate; and her brothers, Charles Edwards Lawson and Robert Lee Lawson.
She is survived by: her children, Dale Shumate and Barbara Shumate; her brother Clarence Lawson (Gladys); her grandchildren, Stacy Allen, Holly Harvey, Ashley Driggers, Jud Shumate, Gary Shumate and Katlin Bridgeman; and her great grandchildren, Peyton Driggers, Gavin Shumate, Bennett Allen, Preslee Driggers, Audrey Allen, Lily Shumate, Weldon Driggers, Lawson James Harvey, Grayson Shumate, Daxton Shumate, Barrett Driggers and Savannah Grace Driggers.
