With sadness, we share the passing of Barbara Lester Martin (Calico Rock, Arkansas). Barbara, born on September 25, 1942 in Newport, Arkansas, passed away on October 22, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Flora Acklin Chism and Delbert Lester; her husband Joel Dean Martin (Jay); and her brothers, Joe Lester and Clifford Chism.
She is survived by: her children, Ricky Martin (Donna), Micky Martin (Lauree) and Susan Kenslow (John); her grandchildren, Ashley Hanna (Tony), Kristen White (Trent), Courtney Risner (Seth), Corbin Russell (Melissa), Luke Martin (Jessy Jo), Brandon Martin (Kelsea), Chelsea Orchard (Brandin) and Macy Martin; her great grandchildren, Hayleigh, Dayton, Ayden, Braelyn, Brooklyn, Brenner, Rorie, Rhenny, Carson, Sarah, Sydney, Colsen, Weston, Jett, Jack, Han, Gannon, Gatlin, Greer and Guinevere; her great great grandchildren, Oliver, Dawson and Asher; her brother Keith Chism (Karen); and her siblings-in-law, Larnal Martin (Judy), Alma Skaggs, Linda Lester and Donna Chism.
A graveside service was held on Monday, October 26th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Table Rock Cemetery (108 Baxter County 127 Rd, Calico Rock, AR 72519).
As Rhen Risner so lovingly described her in 2026, she will forever be remembered as "The legend of a quilt maker."In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to Table Rock Cemetery or Hospice of the Ozarks in Barbara's memory.
