We announce the death of Emma Jean Martin in Camden, Arkansas, who passed away on September 9, 2026, at the age of 94. Emma will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Emma will be remembered for the impact she had on the lives of those around her. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Emma will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture her life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Emma’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued her companionship.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Nelson Adams and Edna Adams; her husband Charles H. Martin; and her sister Annie Lou Benson. She is survived by: her daughters, Denise Merritt (Terry), Tina Barnett (Mitchell) and Sarah Martin; and her brother Edward Adams (Gaye). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Proctor Funeral Home (442 Jefferson St SW, Camden, AR 71701). A graveside service was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Mt. Olive Cemetery (256 AR-76, Rosston, AR 71858).
