He was predeceased by: his parents, John C. Cox and Flossie Sims Cox; his grandparents, Jesse, Edna James Cox, Elbert and Annie Riggs; his wife Carolyn Stratton Cox; and his sister Geneva Hudson of Bearden.
He is survived by: his son John D. Cox (DeeAnna) of Camden; his grandchildren, Kaylee Elizabeth Cox and John W. Cox (Haley); his great grandchildren, J. B. and Tate Cox; his siblings, Dorothy Ashley of Little Rock, Bobbie Jones (Milton) of West Fork and John C. Cox (Sandy) of Hot Springs; and his sister-in-law Dollie Stratton of El Dorado. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 8th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Proctor Funeral Home (442 Jefferson St SW, Camden, AR 71701). A graveside service was held on Sunday, November 9th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Salem Cemetery.
