He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Jess L. Bowen and Pearl Tackett Bowen; his wife June Nutt Bowen; his daughter Anita Pennington; his siblings, J. W. Bowen, Rev. Bobby Bowen, Mildred Churchill, Margaret Sebren and Okla Faye Burris; and his grandson Joe Michael Wishard.

He is survived by: his children, Al Bowen (Debbie) of Sheridan, AR, Kathy Bowen of Bearden, AR and Vickie Alves of Fayetteville; his sister Wanda Farmer of Florence, AZ; his grandchildren, Angela Wages of Hot Springs, Brooke Vaughan of Sheridan, AR, Keith Pennington of Sheridan, AR, Brandy Cartwright of Bearden, AR, Tony Alves of Fayetteville, AR, Paul Pennington of New Edinburg, AR, Dustin Bowen of Sheridan, AR and Cole Pennington of Thornton, AR; and his great grandchildren, Brandon Jordan, Macey Vuckovich, Lillian Bowen, Madelyn Vaughan, Olivia Vaughan, Garrett Bowen, Colton Cartwright, Daniel Pennington, Caroline Pennington and Ethan Pennington.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to any hospice facility.
