He was predeceased by: his parents, James Baxter and Lona Mae Baxter (Crossno); his brothers, James Baxter (Jimmy), Raymond Baxter, Kenneth Baxter (Chief), Harvey Baxter (Mike) and Floyd Baxter; his half-brothers, Clement Baxter, Curtis Bryant and Garland Bryant; his sisters, Dixie Coleman and Margaret Block; his stepdaughter Danette Richardson; his grandson Joshua Smart; and his stepgrandson Jonathan Tubbs.
He is survived by: his wife Janice Baxter (Guffey); his children, Vincent Baxter, Robin Allen (Keith) and Joy Murphy (John); his stepdaughters, Cindy Tubbs and Darlene Easter; his granddaughter Whitney Wheeler (Chris); his stepgrandchildren, Tammy Tenneson (Allen), Variea McGarrah (Chris), Kyle Porresoavacich (Eric) and David Tubbs (Stacey); and his great grandchildren, Reid and Drake Wheeler. He is also survived by numerous other great-grandchildren, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 4th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Dillinger Funeral Home Chapel (2001 AR-367, Newport, AR 72112). A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 4th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, December 4th 2025 at the Ballew's Chapel Cemetery (8839 AR-37, Newport, AR 72112).
