He was predeceased by: his father Howard Sands; his brother Wayne Sands; and his grandparents, Fred, Lucille Phillips (Simpson), Ruth Sands Rakes and Frank M. Sands.
He is survived by: his wife Danna McNelly Sands; his children, Derek Sands (Monique Navarre) of Bentonville, AR, Shontelle Sands Hicks of Bella Vista, AR and Colby Sands of Albuquerque, NM; his stepsons, Ryan West and Adam West of Bentonville, AR.; his grandchildren, Peyton, Macy, Taylor, Beckham, Suttyn, Noah and Ruby; his mother Marlene Sands (Phillips) of Cave Springs, AR; and his siblings, Rick Sands of Ponca City, OK and Lena Sands Lewis (Danny) of Bentonville, AR. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
