She was predeceased by: her parents, Asbury Francis McCasland and Virgia Faye McCasland (Lasiter); her husband Lawrence Manual Chastain; and her siblings, Allen McCasland, Melvin McCasland, Arnold McCasland, Jewell McCasland, Lorene Shelby, Jenneta Howard, Ladean Ragland and Peggy Webb.
She is survived by: her daughters, Darla Bangs of Charleston, Jenny Strickland of Springfield and Linda Hendren (Don) of Eufaula, Oklahoma; and her sister Faye O'Blenness of Arizona. She is also survived by grandchildren; (15) great-grandchildren; and (3) great-great grandchildren.
