He was predeceased by : his parents, Thomas Merrell and Maude Merrell of Florida; and his brothers, Vannen Merrell of Jonesboro, Eddie Merrell of Florida and Douglas Merrell of South Carolina.
He is survived by : his wife Noma Carole Merrell (Neely); his son Shaun Merrell (Yalanda); his grandson Hunter Merrell; and his sisters, Cyndi Merrell (Bill) of Florida and Tammy Merrell of Florida. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
