He was predeceased by: his parents, Jzelden Nelson (J. C.) and Fannie Mae Nelson; and his siblings, RJ Nelson, Wayne Nelson and Pearl Nelson Price.
He is survived by: his children, Derrick Nelson (Annette), Gia Nichole Nelson, Eboney Thomas (Eugene) and Bobby E. Nelson Jr. (Sherri); his siblings, Cecil, Dock, John (Earnestine), Timothy (Marsha), Henry Earl (Carlene), Delouise and Shirley (Willie); and his grandchildren, Eric, Jessica Nelson, Brian, Bria, Gianna, Aniyah, Ladarius and Bobby Earl Nelson III. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
