She was predeceased by : her father William Henry Varner; her husband James Lloyd Bixler; her grandson James Thomas Henderson, III; and her siblings, Willie Varner, Don Paul Varner, Shirley Watson (Varner) and Dorothy Huckaba (Varner).

She is survived by : her son James Thomas Henderson, Jr.; her daughter-in-law Teressa Ruth Henderson (Terry) of Carmel, IN; her daughter Deborah Ann Scroggins (Henderson); her son-in-law Timmy Scroggins of Clinton, Ark; her grandchildren, Peter Graham Henderson, Emily Anne Henderson, Joshua Andrew Henderson, Joseph Timothy Scroggins, Rebekah Ann Scroggins and Annabelle Grace Scroggins; her great grandchildren, Makenna Brynlee Jo Henderson, Lucille Judith Ann Henderson, TessaJo Carilynn Scroggins and Ruslyn Hazel Scroggins; and her brother Robert Preston Varner.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in memory of Sarah.
