He was predeceased by: his parents, Marshall Burks and Ura Burks (McCulloch). He is survived by: his wife Janet Parks Burks; his son Dr. Wesley Burks; his daughter-in-law Jan Burks of Chapel Hill; his daughter Susan Burks of Conway; and his grandchildren, Chris Burks, Sarah Burks Moore and Collin Burks.
