With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Ellen Mitchell of Conway, Arkansas, born in Kansas City, Missouri, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 6, 2025 at the age of 91. She was predeceased by: her husband Dr. Richard S. Mitchell; her brother Robert B. Houston; her parents, Dr. Bruce Houston and Elinor Emmy Houston (Rogers); and her adoptive father Bruce (Elinor Houston).
She is survived by: her children, Carol Griffin (David), Susan Vernon, Leslie Karen Minick (David) and Steven Richard Mitchell (Lisa); her grandchildren, Mitch Taylor (Taylor), Mark Taylor, Leah Taylor, Chloe Mitchell, Lydia Mitchell, Elyse Mitchell, Kayla Minick, Daniel Minick, Bryan Foster (Tracy) and Aaron Griffin (Mary); and her great grandchildren, Kyler, Bryson Foster and Conner David Griffin.
The family asked that in lieu of flowers, and in Ellen's generous spirit, donations be made to the Special Needs Trust for Mark Webb, for one of her beloved nephews.
