She was predeceased by: her parents, Wilson Rattler Sr. and Octavia Hunter; and her siblings, Bertina Reynolds, Lavera Rattler, Anthony Rattler and Trumane Thomas (Val).

She is survived by: her husband Billie J. Sanders; her children, Valerie Butler (Robert), Byron Adams and Angela Octavia Adams; and her grandchildren, Marcus Chandler, Monique Chandler Filkins, Jonathan Adams, Jois Thomas, Sonni Ali Adrean Adams, Ashley Adams, Kyron Adams and Cameron Adams. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
